Discuss how this year is going in comparison to last year: Communication, Behavior, Morale.
Huge improvement of communication and morale from the parent and teacher perspective. Ms. Profit is much more visible and participates in activities. The weekly newsletter is very informative. Please help with getting the word out to encourage people to read the newsletter. Overall, this year is much better in all aspects.
-
Update on SIC Goal for the ’25-’26 school year.
In what ways has parent and community involvement already improved compared to last year?
- More parent events and better turn out.
- A good variety of events for different interests.
What barriers still exist for family participation, and how might we address them?
- Other obligations get in the way (sports, work, transportation, etc.)
How can staff continue to build personal relationships that strengthen school-home partnerships?
- Staff encourage students to participate in events. Possibly give extra credit.
- Give students time to complete positive notes in class.
- Students look forward to seeing their teachers at extra-curricular events. Maybe give staff an incentive to attend events.
What would success look like by the end of the school year—and what steps do we still need to take to get there?

April 25th Super Saturday-Arts infused day full of performances. Create small committee to get this in a pre-planning phase (Profit, Tupper, Summers, Foster, Ranslow, Glaser). Ranslow is the point person, and SIC supports. Need to move event to May 2nd due to other performances. Band will still not be able to attend. Will possibly be moving the date again to include everyone. Will look at crossover to determine the impact for other programs. Idea to use the “Golden Paw Giveaway” as a giveaway for the students performing. For community partners, make a donation to the school and bring their own tables. Put art in the waiting areas.
Possibility of a survey to fill out as an exit ticket on math night to get feedback on parent involvement. Asking parents which school events they attend and get ideas for different events

- Schoolwide Rally was a great success last Friday
- Each grade level also had an expectation reminder meeting with admin last Wednesday.
- Staff discussed trending discipling on Jan 5th. Last year our major referral total was about 2400, and we are currently at 880 major referrals. We are trending down and feel good about our progress.
- MAP scores are trending upward. We will be celebrating that growth in the coming weeks by visiting the park.
