PACT Strategies Classes

PACT Strategies classes at Alston provide a place where students can focus on a specific content area for an additional 30 minutes each day. Teachers use PACT scores, MAP data, and classroom performance to select an area for each student. Students who need additional assistance in math and language arts engage in personalized computer activities in the Compass Lab as a part of their PACT strategies class. Those students who score at the Proficient or Advanced level on the PACT are placed in a Reading Renaissance class where they can spend time reading and work on comprehension skills to impact overall academic achievement. PACT strategies classes are one more way Alston seeks to meet the needs of each student, and these classes have resulted in significant academic gains for our students.
